Drawing process - fine liners, copic markers.
I get asked about what I draw with and how I use Copics smoothly quite a bit. I just try not to take my pen off the page too much and use long sweeping strokes to get the coverage as seamless as possible. This is a kind of old video that I made for my talk at Analogue/Digital - maybe some people will enjoy it.

Y’know people say shit about social media along the lines of ‘OMG no one cares what anyone had for breakfast’ and like.
I do? I care. I’m pretty sure a lot of people care. I want to hear that the people I care about are having delicious breakfasts or saw something odd at work or flirted with a cute barista. Or just any little thoughts they have that they feel are worth sharing.
I’ve always kind of assumed that’s how you’re supposed to feel about your friends.
Urghhhhh I need to make some art to nourish my soul. Design can be dry and I hate rules. I want to be an artist.
I’m learning it’s hard to feel your purpose as an artist when art isn’t all that you’re spending your creative energy on. I think I feel like a bit of a sham, a bit of a novice when I think about art I want to make because I feel like I’m cheating on it with design. Now to put music-making in the mix would just be silly.
Now that I know I’m not coming back to design school next year, it’s really hard to not give zero shits about all the stuff I have due and just bail on the rest of the year. Ahhhh. What do I have to prove…
I design clothes because I don’t want women to look all innocent and naïve…I want woman to look stronger…I don’t like women to be taken advantage of…I don’t like men whistling at women in the street. I think they deserve more respect. I like men to keep their distance from women, I like men to be stunned by an entrance. I’ve seen a woman get nearly beaten to death by her husband. I know what misogyny is … I want people to be afraid of the women I dress.

Okay so I’ve now confirmed I can slip straight into second year fine art at RMIT next year. I am so excite. I am also not want homework for dumb ass design school. I’ve never set myself up to fail before and I’ve never not handed in an assessment so that prospect is very scary but I dunno should I just go swimming instead of doing homework for the rest of the year???!!!
